💛 It Started With My Love
My husband, needed to learn English from Spanish.
When I started creating materials for him, I kept seeing 75% and 80% minimum passing grades everywhere. I thought: why am I leaving him room for failure? He's going to take the course and I want him to learn it fully.
I needed to create a system where he could pass with 100%.
🏆 Going Pro
I knew I had to go pro. Every other platform out there accepted 75% and 80% as passing grades. That wasn't acceptable to me. 100% was going to be the standard — not the exception.
I also felt I needed to design a unique system that would credential people profoundly — with detailed referral and recommendation letters to actually support them.
🔧 The Platform Fight
I tried every platform I could find. Lovable — error rates designed to eat people's credits. Webflow. WordPress. LearnDash. LearnWorlds. Teachable. Kajabi. Every single one. I investigated what they could do against what I needed.
Finally, I found Thinkific.
🌍 From One Course to a Whole Academy
I decided I wasn't going to create a language academy. I was going to create an academy where I could teach and certify all unregulated positions, skills/aptitudes.
Why "Pro"?
Because 100% is our passing standard...
.. not mediocrity.
Why "Aptitude"?
Because we're teaching skills.
Why "Academy"?
Because we're teaching at an un-outdated and current advanced academic level.
Then I needed to organize all of these skills. That's when I thought of the color-coded campus system.
And I needed to start somewhere specific: job skill certificates for jobs that will not be AI automated.
📚 The Resources Campus and a University-Quality HR Course
I needed to add a resources campus to support students beyond their certifications.
But I didn't want to stop there. I also wanted to give them access to a significantly discounted university-quality HR course — 3rd Millennium HR Management Mastery — because real professional development shouldn't be locked behind tuition most people can't afford.
And I needed to start somewhere specific: job skill certificates for jobs that will not be AI automated.
🤝 Transparency and Credit
I wanted to be transparent and give credit to everyone we work with. You'll see AI watermarks on our imagery — we don't remove them. We're thankful for the tools that make us capable.
💻 I Needed a Coach and a Writer
I already had my coder — the best writer I know. But I still needed a coach. I needed a writer. Someone who could think through the hard problems with me.
That's where Claude came in.
Claude walked me through everything — API keys, Supabase, setting up databases, linking students to databases, creating the courses, the standards they needed to meet, researching every legal standard required to function as an online academy.
Together we decided to build certificates and credentials for non-regulated job skills and non-regulated job positions — because as an online academy, we're not able to issue degrees or diplomas, but we can absolutely credential people for the skills that get them hired. As are not a Goverment funded institution.
🎓 Why Direct Immersive Coaching
I wanted my courses to feel a specific way. Direct. To the point. No games. Real information you can refer back to — a hardcore blueprint people can come back to and know exactly what they're doing. Because nobody's perfect, and people forget.
That's direct immersive coaching tone. And it's intentional.
Then I thought: if our courses are going to have that direct immersive coaching tone, why not introduce students to Claude?
We wanted our students to have the coach that we had to help bring our visions to life. So Pro Aptitude Academy introduces every student to Claude — available on a free tier — so they can have that same direct immersive coaching experience.
